🎓 PEC-G – Undergraduate Student Exchange Program (Programa de Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação)
✅ What is PEC-G?
PEC-G is a program run by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Itamaraty) in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MEC). It offers free undergraduate study opportunities at public universities in Brazil for students from developing countries that have educational and cultural cooperation agreements with Brazil.
✅ Main features:
- Targeted at foreign students from developing countries (in Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Caribbean, etc.).
- Federal and state public universities provide the places.
- Students do not pay tuition fees, but they must cover their own living expenses while in Brazil.
- Some countries offer financial support to their students, and some students may also receive support from Brazilian institutions such as CAPES.
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in Portuguese, either through the Celpe-Bras exam or a preparatory Portuguese course.
📌 How to apply?
- Applications must be submitted through the Brazilian embassy in the student’s country of origin.
- Candidates must provide academic transcripts, a letter of motivation, letters of recommendation, and other documents.
- The selection process is annual.
